Seven Sword, Finally.

Finally, Bandai decided to really make a Seven Sword unit. The HG-00 kit will come out early this year and is already available for pre-order in sites like 1999.co. Definitely one of the kits to look out for this season.

Finally a kit deserving of the XN Raiser that came with HobbyJapan Oct '09 issue. Doesn't come with a GN Sword-III though. It remains exclusive to the 00-Raiser kits.

The Seven Sword unit: GN Buster Sword, GN Sword-II long and short, GN Beam Katars and the usual GN Beam Sabers. But what's that other one?

A fourth type of GN Sword-II, perhaps?

In other news, a MechaPinoy class picture from the MP Christmas party last December.

Zakuhin Mo Mukha Mo!

MechaPinoy is kicking off 2010 with its 1st in-house contest for this year: Zakuhin Mo Mukha Mo!!! An all out Zaku model kit contest. GO WILD. Any mods, add-ons and paint jobs are allowed. The ultimate in individual expression of a Zaku.

That's right, people. MechaPinoy's first in-house contest of the year. And all-out war in celebration of the granddaddy of all grunt units, the Zaku. It's simple. It's a build-off using any Zaku of your choice as your base kit. All Zakus from UC to CE in all scales and grades.

Hi-Zack? Geloog? Gouf? "IT'S NOT A ZAKU, BOY! NOT A ZAKU!" -Ramba Ral

2010 Googlism

I blog a lot and I follow a lot of blogs too. I remember this meme that spread several months ago. The usual titles for it were: "Google Me" or "What google says about me". Anyone remember this? Anyway, if there is a need, Google will fill it. The multimillion dollar online empire came up with Googlism. It gives you a list of what google thinks about you from the good, the bad and the ugly.

I personally think this is a rather great idea not just to give people that do the meme an easier time but for thesis topic researchers. [Yeap, I linked some of the undergrads I know and they think it's a good tool.] The phrases they generate give you a thought on the topic and the fact that a phrase is generated means there is some information on the topic.

Since it's the new year and all, here's some listed for 2010:
2010 is good
2010 is tomorrow
2010 is in progress
2010 is funded
2010 is the result of years of work by more than 300 people from both the public and private sectors
2010 is a part of a public health campaign called healthy people 2010
2010 is better
2010 is not 'just another initiative'

So anyway, joining the New Year's traditions, Arckham and I give you our New Year's Resolutions:

Arck:

  1. Lose weight
  2. Minimize drinking
  3. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a day.
Xy:

  1. Get a job and start a career
  2. Move back to NCR [preferably Pasig, QC or Ortigas]
  3. Get my own DSLR [Preferably a D90 with 18-200mm lens VR of course.]

Anyway, we hope all of you had a happy new year and may 2010 treat you better than 2009.
